The Oil Painting

Photobucket

Paint my love for you in oil,
like an abstract over time,
smoky visions, peaks and valleys,
foggy sadness and sublime.

Paint my heart in oil,
the colors suit it well,
blues and grays softly blend
with tints of opaque shell.

Paint my life in oil
so that my memory may live on,
you were all there was to me,
the oranges and the reds of dawn...
faded from the painting, gone.

You paint such extraordinary beauty with your captivating, melancholic words, dear Dixie!

One painting of this kind can't be enough ... you have the power to create another one you know, and the colors of dawn will be of greater brilliance too.

Love the picture too.

Love and hugs.

I like this, Dixie and I don't like too many "you're gone" poems because I think most of them should be "gone" but this is nice.

I am especially fond of the beginning of this interesting 'penning!':

"Paint my love for you in oil,
like an abstract over time,
smoky visions, peaks and valleys,
foggy sadness and sublime(!)"

applause!!

Passing shadows,

The painting goes well with the poem:

"the oranges and the reds of dawn...
faded from the painting, gone."

Good job.

Dixie,

I don't think anyone paints oil poetry as well as you.  This is among my favorites anywhere.
