Astronomy, that which treats of things
celestial, as in the staggering immensity
of space-time, as in stars . . .

Love that which treats of stars in the eye---
absolution, dissolution, synthesis---
longing in search of completion . . .

Ah, for the latter, there are widespread reports
of failings. The latter---vulnerable
to the vicissitudes of things beyond mechanics.

The latter, a hard discipline, as in the application
of a wrench to turn the wind.
but we magnificent fools will try, anyway!

Hi, yann. I might need to revise the poem to make the flow of thought clear. Latter refers to love, as it follows the former, astronomy.
I hope it makes sense, otherwise, I will see if
I need to revise, or to call it home for more careful review!

Thanks,

Art

I enjoyed the blend of thoughts here...
The vastness of stars in space, and how we translate that image to stars in the eyes of love.
Yes, we do.

It may be said that love can be a portal to eternity.

This is a difficult concept, well presented.

I like these words "as in the application of a wrench to turn the wind." what a novel idea.
