Sometimes
I go to the
large cemetery

where the sun
shines bright

ripples sparkle
on a peaceful pond

graceful swans

I sit, sipping tea

and in the
twilight,
watch
as rabbits play

Sometimes
I go deep
into the woods

to the little graveyard

that lies in darkness

completely enclosed
by rusted wrought iron
that never bore a gate

and in the
early dawn,
watch
as possums crawl
out from beneath
weathered headstones

carrying bloated bellies
and satisfied grins

the tea taste the same

I like this Uriah. Not only because I visit cemetaries, but because you've taken the light and dark of it, and blended the strain so very well.

Reminds me of when I lived in Florida as a kid and when we went deep into the woods behind our house there was a small grave site that was overgrown with the growth of the forest...you could barely make out the gravestones...James

XOx Uriah xOX,

This is nicely descriptive.  I'd change the last line to:

"the tea tastes the same"

There's this distance of observation that is connected in this--and it's peaceful and wise.

You've got it goin' on, Uriah.

Nicely done.

I like what you got going on here a lot.
The last line really does it for me.
