Felix and his Mom
get along real fine.

Mom always treats him right.

Felix sometimes wishes
that Mom made better choices
about the company she keeps.

One guy in particular
kinda ticks him off.

He’s the violent,
drunken, sort.

He likes to throw things
in the house.

Like throwing beer cans
through a window
in the winter time.

Trouble is,
he picked the window
facing North
during a snow storm.

Like a lot of times,
the heat is off.

They have snow piled up
in the front room.

Felix wishes that creep
would just go away.

Felix wishes he could
fix the window.

None of that
is going to happen.

Felix and his Mom are left,
freezing their butts off.

Bobby

I hope Felix and his Mom got that window fixed eventually Bobby, it sounds like it was a very cold winter for them... I hope Felix's Mom saw the light and got rid of that guy...  love RDB

Dear RDB,

Felix says thanks for your good wishes.  It's just a typical Philadelphia winter for a typical Philadelphia Felix.

Thanks James,

Oh—it can be way worse than that.  The water pipes can freeze, and burst, and the toilet bowl can freeze solid.

Yes, winter has a different look to it when you're cold and hungry and can't do anything about it.

Ida,

You're absolutely right Hon.  That's the way it is with us natural people.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

Hi bobby, always  nice to read you...I've been a winter in 1996 without heating (but winters are not so cold here (minus one or two the night some few days)), it was terrible but i think it's worse for a kid...
