The woman in me cries mostly inside
at the seeming waste of a lifetime
but there wasn’t love to light desire
buried beneath denial.

But then it came with the candy man
who passed the sweetness with mystical hands
and allowed the keep like stuck on sea sand
in the towns and cities of my own land.

Now washed by the sea it’s like I must see
love stays and lives mostly in me
but time and tide can’t banish the feel
while I remain a candy floss freak.

I love it, you see, for how quickly it slides
down to the core of a woman inside
to bring desire again into mind
and lift a need up to the eyes.

I see it there all sugary sweet
coloured to be like the feel in me
but you cannot know unless you eat
and acknowledge inside the knowing of me.

Candy floss, candy floss!  I long for time
to slide again the love inside!
