 My Fairy Muse by Linda L. Dowd My fairy muse, ~ Her name is Merry. She can amuse, and be contrary! She flits and flies about my head. And darts around when I'm in bed. She wakes me up in ‘mid of nite’, ~ Says, "Grab a pen! And write, write, write!" She talks of love and fantasy, ~ Then she's spoutin' Philosophy! Merry is my inspiration. But there are times, ~ She's pure frustration! She spews out words from soft to bold. ~ One moment hot, ~ Next moment cold. She speaks like saint, and then does not, Speaks angel words ~ Then words red hot! When she's away, I long to hear, ~ Poetic words, ring in my ear. Merry Mary Quite contrary Sometimes fun And sometimes scary. When you're awake She hides so that she can't be found But Linda, It's you that she feels the need To hang around. Loved it and may your fairy always be close at hand. |

simon ~ My Merry muse liked your response so much, she's threatening to abandon me and fly off to England to be with you! Linda, There's a lot of them about. I've got one too. His name is Alan & he's constantly waking me up when I'm sound asleep by throwing water into my face and shoving a pen into my hand. He's very keen on arranging an exchange trip to the US but I've told him, I need him here. |
