Between the Lines

Dazed, I walk this empty place
while teardrops cycle
and the silver moon
fades into horizons blush.
Harmony is missing
in my waking moments,
Paradise a distance yet to go.

In this morning calm,
I reflect on the sufferings
of others, comparing
and while I am only on its edge
I see the depth echoing its path
towards mine.

Twisted thoughts, indecent at times
wrenching my body, distorting my view.
I would use you if I could,
complicating your life,
seize upon your every breath
to bring mine back
to "inspirations point."

I have yet to blossom, adored by none,
hurt by truths, eyes holding the secret.
Last night I left the light on...hoping,
the phone by my side...wishing,
but knowing all too well,
sleep would overcome first.

The road ahead is blocked, the storms
having left disaster in their path,
so much distruction, years in the making.
He doesn't realize what life after will be like,
as I prepare myself for the inevitable.

Still his pillar, all will come crumbling down
just when he thinks he will be flying free.
And me? Where will I land?
I am a bit more controlled, less needy now,
still feeling shades of blue
for failure was not my game.

But I have my pride intact, and I lack nothing
that with time and a bit of patching up,
will redress my life to suit myself
and if you are there,
you will be one of the lucky ones
to be included in my world of ALWAYS.

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."
(Will Moss)

Very, very well done, my friend. I like it all. Well written by any standard.

An outstanding cathartic write, lady M.
It is achingly painful, yet sadly beautiful.

I think it must be hard to carry on loving someone, especially if they bring you hurt & pain. But I think it is impossible to stop loving them. Because you are not in love with some one doe's not mean you do not love them. How hard to try and move on & leave the past and all it's memories behind. Yet move on you must & I sense you are slowly going in that direction. It is akin I think to leaving your offspring at the school gate on their first day. You know you must leave them behind but it is so hard tugging at your heart and trying to pull you back, the tears don't help either I imagine, be strong M, it can only ( ultimately, eventually ) get easier / better   take care    John

This is so sad. But, beautifully written. I know where you're coming from.

Just feeling sorry for myself a bit~~ wishing to have  someone to lean on instead of being the one holding another up.

Sometimes the weight is just too much.

Thank you,
M
