So walks a woman like a snail
slowly, slowly, to the grave
while shifts the sand beneath her feet
until there on the underside
of what appears to be
the bugs and mites, deception,
appear like models on a ramp.

Amazed she shakes her head,
what effrontery, my friend,
to dress up the unspeakable
in the drapes of normality
and use me as a shield
against ridicule.

But bugs are sneaky things
and come and go like insights
thought one minute certain
and the next like a fantasy.

So rolls a woman then upright
better able then to be
the stronger and the taller
should bugs come to the fore!
