Thoughts I Thunk

The thoughts I thunk, one morn in bed
Jumped all around inside my head
Then spilled outside onto the ground
They sang and danced then spun around

Then some of them ran ‘cross the floor
Turned somersaults right out the door
I tried to gather up my thoughts
But they were tangled up in knots

Some went here and some went there
My silly thoughts were everywhere
I grabbed the first thought I could find
And popped it back into my mind

I got a thought of yesterday
And put it back where it should stay
Another thought of long ago
Was harder to put back, you know?

There were thoughts of Mom and Dad
And puppy dogs that I once had
Of birthday parties, fun, and games
I caught them all and gave them names

It took me nearly half a day
To catch each thought that went astray
But finally I got each one
Put back where it had first begun

I sure believed I got them all
Except I hear one in the hall
But its okay, it matters not
‘Cause it is just an errant thought

Sounds a lot like my thoughts. They sneak out and run about. Some scatter and play the game of hide and seek.Others thump me on the head and say write me down.
As always I love to read your writing.
