Thoughts of love linger about
Words of honor are there
"Where are you, Honey?" I try to shout
But he's to be found no where

I just thought I heard his voice
From where I am unsure
My heart had started to rejoice
For a man who is a blurr

Again, I hear his voice so near
I reach out for his hand
"Just lie still" He says "my dear"
But I don't understand

Then the pain shot through my bones
My God what's happening here?
"Do you think she'll make it Dr. Jones?"
And the doctor shouted "Clear"

The light above me is too bright
How I wish they'd turn it down
My husband's standing to my right
Upon his face a frown

God then whispered in my ear
Come now, it's time to go
Suddenly I released my fear
And smiled to let my love know

I feel much more peaceful now
He should not be so sad
Bad things the Lord does not allow
For me, you must be glad

But as you go on with your days
After I've been laid to rest
Don't forget to send up praise
For only taking the best!!

Kris,

We have another poet here who has experienced many of the things I believe you've gone through. Her name is Martie. There is a Search feature that you can utilize to look up some of Martie's works. I think you two would get along very well...

you both have wonderfully wide hearts.

Kris, this has wonderful rhythm & metre, I really hope you stick around & continue writing & posting that calibre of work. Thanks for sharing, it is the likes of yourself that encourage others to continue to strive & hope to be able to achieve this level..  John
