As I am writing this I am filled with guilt,
Shame and sorrow rapidly flowing in my veins,
The pathways of life sucks me in like a vortex,
Trapped, stuck in a unfamiliar reality,
A reality where my hope is gone,
Where I am stuck inside a room with iron bars and unforgiving walls.

You look at me with disrespect and anger,
For what I have done is unforgivable in the eyes of human society,
I begin to regret what I have done and wallow in the corner,
Alone, afraid, awaiting my fate,
While you all look down upon me with disgrace filled eyes,
I curse my actions and begin to cry tears from my empty soul.

For I have taken a life of another man,
While under the influence of a disorienting chemical,
I shot the man, without knowing any better,
Now I am inside this stone cold room of darkness,
Waiting for the authorities to come and send me to court,
And realizing that I am no longer innocent,
I look in the judges eyes, and I plead guilty

Nice writing...many would plead not guilty and create a series of excuses...James
