Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

song out of tune

discordant harmony
lyrics fall flat
melody rises, sharp
strident tones, hurt

composers pause
soften high notes
embelish low notes
music freed

duet of desire soars

Very nice,
I play music myself and have learned bringing out the notes that are hiden can be beautiful.

Ashamed am I.

Because with my complete and total lack of any music talent, my first thought of G-String was totally different from yours...enjoyed this much more after the first couple lines and "understanding" blossomed...heh, heh.

Kool write, my friend.

Alison,

This is very nice.  I take it this is the ā€œGā€ string on a musical instrument.

My girlfriend used to dance in her younger days.  If her ā€œGā€ string snapped, that would be a very bad thing.

This is very good writing.

Ok, you got me too with the title, being muzickly inclined me self, I should have known better. However, my excuse is it was a combination of the title & author that led me down the garden path....I used to play with a guy ( No, Ali...in a band...) a few years ago that was shall we say artistically challenged, I used to ask him to give me an E flat, & got everything but. Got to the stage where I would say to him, just give me an E and I'll flatten it myself    J

G-string could have been something else, jimmy?

Hmmm, I would NEVER have a suggestive or misleading title.

John,

Thank you and loved the story.  Now, don't you have a poem that you are supposed to be responding to.  I am not nagging or anything, John, just gently reminding you that you have been one-upped.

I've snapped a G-String or two in my day and I darn near lost an eye each time! Tuning a guitar can be mighty dangerous! It ain't for the feint of heart! lol

A duet of soaring desire sure beats the heck out of discordant harmony!

May both composers forever play love's song in tune!

Linda,

Maybe you should wear safety glasses when fussing with your G-string.  You know?  Thanks for sharing the "snap" issue.

John,

Stop uppin'- 1 and hop to it!  Or was that 1 - uppin'?  You know, I get really confused responding to comments sometimes.

It's gotta be me because we ALL know that you are totally sane and on task.  Yep.

Hey Steve,

I guess it could be considered a tiny bit suggestive, maybe?  Hope you grinned in spite of your disappointment.  (grins)  GOTCHA!
