.
I’ve got a long list of aches & groans
Arthritis is setting into my old bones
My pizzazz has lost it’s fizz
I can’t remember what day it is

I long since lost the last of my hair
I’m fast in need of a rocking chair
I’ve not enough teeth to eat my tea
What on earth shall become of me ?

I’m verging on incontinent
My get up & go got up & went
I can’t stand the music the kids are listening to
I keep forgetting what it is I’m trying to do

It appears my worst fear is coming true
I think I’m turning into a mixture of Balladeer
And Toerag too.....

.

Now let's see how the two guys will enjoy to pick at you too!

It comes to us all? It's scaring!

As long as you will challenge yourself daily to write joyful poetry, none of the mentioned things will manifest, rest assured.

Love.

Perfect as ever...

Even when you're feeling haggard
And more than a little bit Mick Jaggered
There are those around,
Who'll always see you as the boss
And stop you sitting down and gathering moss.

Sorry Guys, too busy reading other posts to reply to my own, I apologise for my bad manners !

Bruce, Thanks for the vote..

Lady T, I like making you smile..

Margherita, I think they are too scared to reply No?

Jessica, I make myself laugh everyday, I must try shaving without the mirror...

Midnite, You ever try dancing with a walking frame?

Paul,  might not need to go find a bridge, I might just get taken out into the desert by the boys in question..!

Bobby, I might need to get back up from Felix & the crew...

Alison, Of course I can, I just can’t remember what to do when my rooster wakes me up at the crack of Dawn (!)

Talyn, No, thank you for the reply....

James, Might need to lie low in the Islands, I’ll bring chocolate & cherries....

Simon, I once asked a DJ at a party “ Have you got ‘Hold Me ‘ by The Stones and got thrown out of the club.....

Hope, glad to raise a chuckle, I kept my sense of humour too, I just can’t remember Where I kept it ???

N.A,  Don’t forget, I’m still Nil by Mouth, but you can rub as many lotions & potions into this frail old body of mine as you like....I have lost most of the feeling from the neck down, or is that the neck up?

Lol. Now that is a scary thought, a Toerag and Balladeer combination. You'd always be picking on yourself. Good write John, got a nice laugh. Take care and Have fun. Steve

Music what music? I should have said noise! I remember how much it used to annoy my father when I played my CSN, Beatles, Stones etc. He got so mad and said it was rubbish, but hey, they are still playing the songs today & most of those guys are still out touring. In fact I get to go see CSN in California in the spring, how many of the groups around today will be here in 30 years? Apart from which most of their stuff is either computer or engineer generated. Lip sync rules it seems...thanks for the reply   John

Thanks Art, I'm glad to hear it. It's good that some things improve with age. When I was younger I used to be really indecisive, now I just can't make my mind up....

Well, your poem is clever....that must be the mixture of Balladeer in ya. It also sounds like your chassis is headed for the junkpile....definitely the Toerag part!

Join the club old mate, it grows larger every day but with a sense of humour like you have you'll last for many a day yet.

I’m verging on incontinent
My get up & go got up & went
I can’t stand the music the kids are listening to
I keep forgetting what it is I’m trying to do

You certainly wrote that well John from experience I take it. Brilliant post.

Lindsay, Thanks....Having had so much enjoyment from your posts, I am well chuffed to have returned the favour! The music today drives you nuts doesn't it? I do suffer from frequent senior moments lately forgetting stuff etc, I bought one of those whistling jobbies for my car keys so I could locate them easily & cannot for the life of me find the bugger!  Cheers mate
