      Resolution

Just beyond a cold,
wan winter sunset
in the tentative twilight,
a frosty moon climbs
the frigid mountain,
as it has two billion times
  before.
In the frozen forest
an ancient craggy oak
stands tall and resolute,
(with branches  reaching
  for a taste of moonlight)
unbent by weather
  and timeā€¦

What shall we learn
from such tenacity?

Perhaps we should learn that life is a circle.

Secondhanddreampoet,

Yes, I lived in the country, and I had an oak tree like that.

This is a good description.

Beautiful - and, sadly, too many will learn nothing.

I love this, Bruce --

Just beyond a cold,
wan winter sunset
in the tentative twilight,
a frosty moon climbs

Would be my favorite part. It gives a great mental description. Very nice Thank you for sharing.
