I see humanity, one day in the far future, travelling through time, and space,
But as I glance at the television I wonder, can we stay awake that late?
It seems inevitable that we will fall into a deep sleep,
And as our neck bends, and our head bows, our face will smash into our feet,
But then I glance at the television again and wonder, is it too late, have we already fallen asleep?
Can this insanity be reality, or is this a dream?
We're certainly awake, for if this were a dream we wouldn't think to question it,
We would accept the illusion as reality and that would be the end of it,
The I glance at the television again, and I realize, we have accepted the illusion as reality,
This means that we are dreaming, for we never thought to question it, so we must be asleep,
I glance at the clock and I discern that on that old, grade school, twenty four hour time scale of the universe,
Our face is one one hundredth of a second from smashing into our feet.

quite a powerful, pointed, effective 'penning!'..

[fine 'social impact'/conscience commentary on that
'opiate of the asses' (TV)...although, I'm afraid, in
many ways the 'internet' is even more potentially
  dangerous!]

v. serious and long-sustained applause for this 'write!'
