At the Crossroads of Infinity

.

Yes, I have an addiction
But it is not one I'm going to tackle
For I make this prediction
I know I will lose the battle

Those who know what I am doing
Simply shake their head
And say my life will be in ruins
If I don't do something else instead

They think I should just admit
My behaviour is insane
But I've got so hooked on this habit
I keep coming back again

When they see the haunted look within my eyes
They think it is caused by my being weak
But what they do not realise
Is that it is simply lack of sleep

I do not ask for sympathy
Their pity is even worse
I just want to get back on my PC
And finish off this verse

And this will be my last post
(At least until tomorrow night)
When I shall resurrect the Ghost
And once again begin the fight

For I know there is no cure
And no one can help me
I just HAVE to come back for more
Passions in Poetry....

Dixie,    I am hopelesly addicted...and you are so right, it is the mostly due to the deep feeling of love & belonging I get when I visit that makes it so hard for me to stay away...it was not nice to have been away albeit briefly just recently. The quality of the posts on here is another major factor, but it is without doubt the likes of you & others like you that makes me know for sure I will never be free, and truth be told, I don't ever want to leave.... You are right, John, it's the people here.  About three years ago, Sheli brought me here on my birthday.  I consider this site one of my best birthday presents ever.

I cannot get enough of this site. It is so much better for me to be on here reading and writing than on AIM or something.
It's safe too!
BTW..this was an excellent poem!!

Dear John, thank you for this one, enjoyed it much because I can relate!!! It is addicting no doubt.
You have no idea what I must hear and endure as soon as I sit at my computer. They don't know how much joy there is in sharing, in reading, in listening and writing replies, together with so many beautiful poets. Sometimes they succeed in cutting my wings, but I always get over it, I put some music on my ears so that I can't hear ...
That's my kind of struggle!
Love.

great one!...

lots of applause from all of us who together traverse these
fine blue sands of "P.I.P.-land" along the mystic cyber-sea...
and share said grand 'addiction' to 'word-painting!'

Bobby thanks that means a lot..

Ida, I know we are !

Tina, Thanks glad it worked for you

Toe, I’ll drink to that !

Alison, It is the good folk here you got that right. I note you said 1 of your best pressies, the other would be about Yay big & hold 55 gallons right?

Jess Thanks, I am really happy you are sticking around you can & will learn far more here than on IM, & yes it is very safe. You should let your folks check it out as I am sure they will worry when they see how much time you end up spending on here...

Margherita,  You are welcome, and yes, there is so much joy to be found here & I thank you and everyone for contributing to my continuing pleasure...

Bruce, I am happy to be drowning in this cyber sea given the fine companions that  go down with me on a regular basis, thanks for all your kind words & support

RDB, Thanks you always say the nicest things to me. I do so enjoy making you smile, it is fast becoming another habit!
