Colorless in sunlight
like a minefield of gems

Your true beauty appears
in the lessening light

At sunset there is warmth
of peach, pink and salmon

In gray dusk your blue fades
to purple, then eggplant

At night your silver shows
spidery, shadowed trees

And in the deepest hours
when the moon shines fully

I extinguish all light
On a lone country road

To view a black ribbon
winding through purest white
