I sit with my muse, but together we’re lost Have so much to say but unsure As each day we ponder we carry a cost That weighs on the mind even more We solve all the problems the world has today So easy the mind seems to speak The muse and myself both together at play But still something missing we seek How often we travel to heights way above Where heaven and God are to be How often we ponder and query true love And man by the cruelty we see The moments of beauty, the deep hole of dread The warmth and the cold of a day Words of compassion, a secret one said Do keep what is missing away The start of a line, the verse of reflect A pen with some ink that will flow So many thoughts gather; so hard to select The ones that will make my thoughts show So on I will coffee, keep talking away Enjoy every moment in time till I write A cake and a biscuit, a thought that might stay A smile to myself, then goodnight |

Love the way you collect your thoughts, Rick. I read in your writing a sense of resolve and contentment that humbles me in it's quiet strength. There is something to be said about being comfortable in our own company, and I suspect your muse just comes for the coffee.  Wonderful writing, as always~ |
