you were nurse good tree
the tall willow with candy
for the salty treat girls

they smiled with their hands
to hurry their doorways
and you were stealth shoes

proper with secret ink
making your night turn amber
before the morning saw you

I was just a painting on the wall
you spoke to my eyes friendly
but never touched the pathways

of a stranger's quiet highway

Interesting and wonderful poem, dear D.!

... quiet highway ... makes me think. Funny, I am writing a poem about highway bliss, dedicated to my son who is such a biker freak. So the quiet is part of that bliss? ... good to know!
