Father, a salesman
(the inspiration of this poem came from
Karl C Klein’s Unnatural Girl) :

My father was a salesman.
That was all and that was all.
Memory did not recall
The commodities he sold.
The houses of his visits,
The shops or the offices.

A little pack of blue and
Obsolete face-crème once found
In an ancient attic…
“Had it been in his torn bag?”
Fingers wanted to trace his
Print of past long dead and gray.

The summer roads and shut doors
The watching bird with lazy
Wings folded together,
Oh sun, was it a journey
He had taken many times?

Only at night beside a
Wild and black mare he appeared.
“What were you?” asked a boy, me!
“Go and inquire your deep dream”,
Told the dying out image.

I know he was a salesman!

clever talks delay friendship!

poddarku,

A friend and I read Rami aloud to each other on our "reading nights", and I am finding a hint of his style in your words. You're going to quickly become one of my favorites...

You touched me deeply with this one. There is this need sometimes to know where we come from, the father is such an important part of our lives. You created great imagery and an atmosphere of suspense, that leaves one with a sigh.
I never ever knew mine.
Love.

There is superb heartfelt intonation in this writing.  I wanted to travel through black and white photos...perhaps connected with my own wish to know more.
Excellent!

Ku, you write with such depth and inner vision.

A soft, contemplative write. Very well done.
