My mommy bought me a songbird It's yellow and green and white But this morning it wouldn't sing a note, Something just wasn't right. I went to the kitchen to tell my mom "My bird won't sing anymore?" She said get dressed or you'll be late Pick your clothes up off the floor. My bird just kind of lays there? No sound or chirps or song, Why doesn't my bird sing anymore? Maybe my dad will know what's wrong. I went to the den to ask my dad, He knows most everything. "Dad" I said, "That bird I have Just lays there and won't sing." My dad replied, "I'm late for work, Hand me my case and lunch, And don't be late for school or "else" And you better not miss your bus!!!" Why doesn't my bird sing anymore? So sweetly like he did back then? I guess when I get home from school, I'll just wind it up again. |
