Stuart and Sally are all set to get married.
Sally's going to be both metaphorically and literally carried
Over a threshold.

Presents are going to be bought and sold
By greedy retailers
And invitations are going to be carried
By wearisome mailers.
(The whole thing's going to be like going to watch a movie- after being enticed by the trailers).

The best man's going to be scratching his head
As he works out the best way to be funny,
About his friend
And mums and dads over how much money
They should be willing to spend.

But that's not the end.

Because getting married and being married are entirely different things.
And it's not just a question of now wearing some rings.

It's about two people now sharing one life
With four parents, the possibility of children, one man and his wife.

And years from now, even when they're driving each other mad,
Hopefully, it'll still be the second-best day
That they have ever had.

The best day will see them at another head table
Sat side by side
Glowing with pride
As they're trying to decide
How to stop too much champagane, going to their heads,
As their own Stuart or Sally weds.

And life goes on and on and on.

Well done, my friend...went through two of those in the past year or so and already see the future in both of them.

Enjoyed.

Almost every one's heart is filled with love when they get married Simon but the

most important attribute after you are married is tolerance, repeat tolerance.

Love backed up with tolerance has a good chance of success for a lasting marriage.

I have been married for fifty six years so can speak from experience. great write Simon
much enjoyed.
