The 'Mousse' and the Pussyca
by Linda L. Dowd

Timid little dormouse,
Peeking out from hole,
Would you like some cheesy bits
In your tiny bowl?

~ * ~

Sweet little pussycat,
What would you like to eat?
~ I'd like a plate of mousey mousse,
Now THAT'S a tasty treat!

~

Lady Tom ~

I believe that it is a 'Tom'cat. ~ and tomcats are known for their ravenous appetites and indiscriminate food choices!

Do you have any cat in you, Tom?!?

FJL ~

That was hell-arious!

Ahem, I think that our Doctor Moose would take exception to you referring to him as a "funny deer"!

As they say, "All is fair between mice and moose! ~ or is that "men"!" ~ or something like that!

My cat would catch the mouse and then bring it to me completely untouched. My cat would then walk off leaving the mouse to scurry off and hide behind my biggest & heaviest furniture. I would then have to spend the next hour moving stuff around trying to find the mouse- meanwhile my cat is not even remotely interested & is probably asleep somewhere so, enjoyed the poems but not what the picture made me think of...

Oh, Linda, what a treat!!

I see the cat has her paws at rest and is engaged in friendly conversation with "Mousse", I don't fear any bloody outcome here.

mmmmm ... every woman has something of a cat in her I guess. Miaow!

And with this I say good night ... it's early morning ...1.07 am over here.

Sweet dreams to cats and mice and Angelo Terrestre!

Brava!!

love and hugs

Oh Linda that did remind me so much of the nursery rhyme I learnt as a child.

An Owl and a pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five pound note.

It was one of my favourite rhymes and yours is just as good. Love and hugs to you dear Lady and take care.

I forgot to mention for John's sake that mice will eat anything. I have seen two enormous mouse plagues in my life and there is absolutely nothing they won't eat and when they run out of food they turn upon themselves and become cannibals. Dreadful creatures.

Linda,

This is a cute poem.

I have to get one of those cat guys.  For some reason, this year I have a mouse infestation.  I've lived in this house for twenty years, and never had mice before.

I'll have to talk to my dog, and see if she will tolerate a cat.

Everybody in my neighborhood has cats to
keep the fruit rats away. Most of us have citrus and avacado trees. We would probably have a big problem without the cats.

It appears that you are 6 hours ahead of our time. I will have to keep that in mind. California and British Columbia are 3 hours behind ours and England is 5 hours ahead of us.

Is not that an adorable painting?!?

You lived through TWO mouse plagues!

~ I probably would not have survived even one of them!

~ and you say that they can become cannibalistic?!? ~ but they're so cute! (I just don't like the idea of them in my house or running rampant all over the place ~ and carrying disease!)

Cute, since my doxies think they are cats and will catch a mouse or two and my cats think they are dogs and dig holes in the yard-identity issues I fear

Perhaps you can coax your canine friend into having a feline friend for fun and play!

I've heard that mice will one day rule the world for mice are mightier than men!

Merci! ~ and yes, I got a chuckle out of John's verse as well! He's got quite the sense of humour! ~ as do you!

A dog asks a miming mouse, "Cat got your tongue?" ~ I know, that' s dumb joke that I just made up!

Have a great day!

Dear Ida ~

I would give my 'halo' to have citrus and avocado trees on my property! I practically live on avocados with 'fresh'-squeezed lime juice . They cost a small fortune up here in the Great White North ~ and they are not as 'fresh' as if they were picked right off the vine ~ so to speak!

Loving hug,
Linda
