Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Eyes burn; beg “sleep, sleep”
Body aches; hip-shoulder-head-pain
Restless discontent
     mind churns; can’t stop, racing
          thoughts tumble

      (torturous)

Months of struggle, termination
decisions decided, finally
mental desire for capitulation
     conquered, completed
          actions morph

     (reaction)

Deliberations over, battles won
Some lost, price not yet paid
in full, discontent lingers
     rattling a mind fatigued
          too soon to let go

     (hostage)

Glass lifted, sardonic whisper
here’s to the memories
while restless discontent lingers
     naïve beliefs, colored
          to tarnished silver

     (game over)

Impressive write, dear Alison!

You no doubt rendered "restless discontent" powerfully.

I hope you may soon write about "calm serenity/gratification" ... it will come around when you will be able to let go.

Love and hugs.

I have played this game before-very draining.  I like the way you let it out

Alison,

This sounds rather dreadful.  Try to relax, be cool, and wait for better days to come.

A, you are playing the wrong game, you want to try naked-spin-the-bottle-twister. Start by emptying a very large Tequila bottle...

Keep the chin up dear Alison, always remember things are never as bad as they

seem. After the storm, the sun always breaks through and I'm sure it will for you

in the not to distant future. good luck my dear.

Mysteria,

Two months?  Now that's a game I have never mastered - though I did almost end this with "check mate".

Thanks for making me smile.

D

Sleep at work?

This is where the torture stemmed from.  I have to keep my eyes open all the time and watch my back on this one.

But, I resolved the problem yesterday and slept much better last night.

Thanks, my friend.

Thank you, firestorm.  Yes, it is exhausting, but sometimes I have to remember that it often is just a game.

Bobby,

Thank you for the very sound advice.  Today was already better.  Sometimes when the decision is made, things instantly improve.

John

I buy my tequila by the 55-gallon drum and do you know how hard those are to spin?

Sheese, man!

(grins)

Thank you.

Lindsay,

Thank you.  You have become a big part of my PiP smiles.  Today was already a bit better and I did sleep much more deeply last night.  So, I think writing and deciding was the best thing for me.

Holy Moly, if you can lift the worm that comes with the barrel, spinning it is gonna be a walk in the park. And I thought pile of ice blocks was to build an igloo, little did I know it was for your drink..
