Apologies to Bobby Jordan for any offence arising by my using Felix as the vehicle here. As you can imagine, during my recent  hospital stay the days were very long being awoken just after 6 every morning. Having little else to do but observe the daily rituals, served only to fuel my creative thoughts. I have posted this before the actual  ‘poems’ to set the scene as it were. On the day of my operation, I had a visit from the Hospital barber. He introduced himself as Cyril but stated that everyone calls him Butch.  (This instinctively brought to mind Felix, Sally & WaWA etc. Hence the title) Now, I am no oil painting but this guy was SERIOUSLY lacking in the looks department. In fact, he looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp.
When he announced that he had come to give me a shave, I replied that I did not need one as I had shaven prior to arriving at the hospital… He gave me a wicked grin & whipped back the bed clothes………. 'A Close Shave@ &  'Quasimodo's Brother ' are dedicated to Cyril AKA Butch……

.

A Close Shave

I’m usually quite brave
Bit I cringe at your very touch
And I rather not be shaved
By someone known as Butch

So if you don’t mind Cyril
I’d much rather  do my own thing
Because you will put your life in peril
If you damage my ding-a-ling !

Please hand over the mirror
Release your clutch on the shaving  foam
Pass the cut throat & grab your coat….

Butch, it’s time that you went home

~ I thought that it was only ding-a-lings that had a ding-a-ling?

Sorry SEA,No offence intended.. given that Chuck Berry sang about the same thing I did not think it would be a problem. I have no objection to your moving it should you feel the need..

John,

Grisly John, very grisly.  I hope you gave yourself a good shave.

I was a little kid, and I loved it, played it over and over. I don't know when it came out, but i did in 1970
