When life to me
Was first being unveiled
It seemed like women ran the World.
(There was none of this stereotypical nonsense about washing pots. Womankind was calling all the shots.)

There was mum, my teacher, Mrs. T on the t.v. , even the Queen.

If they weren't keeping me clean or staring back at me from off my 50p weekly pocket money. They were sinking 'The Belgrano' whilst it was on the way back to harbour.

Or telling me 'la oiseau est dans l'abre'.
( for anyone who doesn't have quite the same affinity with French as me, that means 'the bird is in the tree'.

Roughly.

And is it any wonder that I didn't turn out to be ever so slightly more masculine,

When all through my formative years. I was surrounded by all these women.

Apologies for Englishisms,
A Few Notes.

'Mrs. T.' refers to Margaret Tharcher, the English 'president' throughout much of the 70s and 80s and who made the decision to sink 'The Belgrano' which was an enemy flaghip during our early 80s 'squabble; with Argentina.

A 50p is half an English pound. All British money bears a profile of the Queem.
