When stairways wound to leaded glass
And deep Oak stain glowed red with age
Wine is slumbering deep below in luxury
Hearty laughs have echoed loud
Cotillions and silk and dreams of the rich
A girl makes her way to the window
One last goodbye before she goes
She certainly didn't choose to be born here
She gathers up her luggage and slips quietly out the door
