Felix hates you.

Oh yes,
I’m afraid he does.

He won’t admit it.

In fact,
he doesn’t even admit it
to himself.

You represent everyone
that’s ever hurt him,
and he’s been hurt a lot.

He doesn’t like to
look in a mirror.

Don't be fooled
by his constant smile,
and pleasant words.

That’s all
an unholy show.

Now if you
had four legs,
and barked,
he’d like you.

Bobby

Four-legged creatures have a way of bringing the love out of us ~ by putting their love in to us!

ArtSolstice,

Thanks kid, for sticking with Felix.  He appreciates it.

Felix no longer hates people.  He got over it.  There wasn’t any money in it anyway.

Simon,

Yes, the truth had to come out, sooner or later.

I'm pleased it worked for you.

M,

I'd advise getting a dog.  They are great friends.  Just up, and do it.  NOW!

LeeJ,

Thanks loads for the hugs.  I don't know what I'd do without my dog Hilda.  She's never bitten me, or anyone else.

Earth Angel,

Yes, it seems that way.

I've heard however that cats and dogs are really pack animals.  They think we're part of the pack.

That's okay with me, I'm lucky enough to be part of the gang (pack).

You're right Bobby pets can heal a lot of wounds... and look at how some people treat them. I think maybe Felix can say things in his poems that he has needed to say for years.
...and others need to hear.

Ida,

Thanks for your ever insightful words.

Hilda just brought me back from our afternoon walk.  She walks me around the hood three times a day.  She's a kind mistress.

Toerag,

Awww, poor Toerag.  You'll have to buy the book when it comes out, and study it.

Tom too,

Yes, animals are very nice.  Their charm is complementary to human kind.

Passing shadows,

Thanks Hon.

Yes, Felix does like his dogs.  He always has, they're nice to him, and treat him good.

Maybe this is why I have three dogs and am getting a fourth.

Something to think about here.
Thanks, Felix

And, thank you, Bobby.

Alison,

Yes, Felix loves dogs.  He's getting along better with people as he grows older.

I'm pleased you could relate to this poem.
