BUBBLES

a bubble
is blown

and there I am

floating
until

I try
to fill
the whole sky --
and burst

or meet
some unseen
speck of death --
and burst

or yield
to gravity’s
tireless tug --
and burst

and then
parts of me

are swallowed
by the sky

drunk
by the ocean

lost
in dust

and
what is left
must

swallow
the sky

drink
the ocean

mold
the dust

for I am the child
that blows through the ring of wire
I dip
in a soapy cup

Anthony~
You caught me between a *smile* and a *giggle* with this fantastic write~

Why *smile* or *giggle* you may ask ..
well, my almost-four-year-old grandie girlie and I were out on the patio by the pool ... blowing bubbles and watching them land on the surface to be 'swallowed up' by the swirling water spillover from the spa~

Things like bubble-blowing and kite-flying are things that keep me young~

Loved reading your take on blowing
bubbles and their destiny~

Oh, I love this! Like dear Marge and Landry,  I adore soap bubbles , it relaxes me enormously (yes I confess, I do them even when my little grandson isn't around ...). They are true magic.

Captivating write!

love

Delightful poem, Anthony. I blow bubbles with my great granddaughter and for my cats
They love to chase them.
