Imagination

It's the creative imagery
From the depths of the mind
It's changing things from what they are
Into, a very different kind.

It's looking past the outside
To see what's in between
It's guessing what things look like
That, never will be seen.

It's planning for tomorrow
And, things that you might do
It's dreams dreamt in the night
The day won't let, come true.

It's fantasy about someone
That you may never know
It's the way you think you feel inside
When there is no one to show.

It's music, words, and artwork
Of every type and style
It's maybe, even a masterpiece
Every once in a great while.

It's thoughts and hope and wishes
That makes this world go 'round
It's imagining things that may be
And too, those never found.

Abe,

This is a good description of imagination.  I'd try to get rid of some of the forced rhymes.  Poetry need not rhyme at all.

I like your style of writing.. I too rhyme. It is easy for me to keep reading when the words flow like water...

I loved this stanza

"It's music, words, and artwork
Of every type and style
It's maybe, even a masterpiece
Every once in a great while."

each one of us who writes poetry, will one day write a masterpiece.  even if nobody else thinks so.

GREAT WRITE.

You know, Del, I become more of a fan of your poetry with each one that I read.  This is wonderful - but I kind of expect that from you.

Good writing.

This is absolutely great! I love this. A very good poem about imagination. It lets people know you don't always have to write about people or feelings, you can write about things you wouldn't normally think about.
Great job!
