Do you remember when
You said those things to me
All the times we’ve shared
We were meant to be
The days gone by
The rain has come and gone
The lightning storms
Inside me rages on

Like a forest fire
Burns so steadily
Catching us off guard
You moved so readily
Able to continue on
Without a second glance
Turning inside out
A meaningless romance

Did you hear that sound
The thunder’s rolling in
Memories have faded
Our time is at an end
A bright blue sky
Heaven feels so numb
This void I’ve felt
I’m waking up from

Better to die, and sleep
The never-waking sleep, than linger on
And dare to live when the souls life is gone.

The rain has come and gone
The lightning storms
Inside me rages on

Powerful words Trevor. I enjoyed them.

Enjoyed this very much...the blue sky speaks to me of moving on.

Trevor,

I like this a lot - I live in a land of lots of ligtening storms and forest fires.  I like how you used the two in this poem.

I enjoy a good metaphorical write using nature!

"This void I’ve felt
I’m waking up from"

~ You can now open your eyes to the crystal blue skies!
