Granted I miss you.
But some things were never meant to be-
I am a poet and you are married
and you were always there for me

until just recently.

A beauty in my youth,
everyone could see
the handsome, powerful man
with the gorgeous mistress of me

but those days are gone
with days that changed us each,
and put those fond memories
of old times out of reach.

We were beautiful. Yes.
But between tears and years
I find that the memory of us
simply blurs and disappears.

Passing shadows,

This is a very nice tribute.  Being beautiful can be a hard job.

So many times, in the pages of blue, we read our story in someone else's words.
I love that about this place.

Very touching, beautiful write.

Dixie,

I think that there is something really special about a woman who can admit her beauty, speak of it and draw others in to the fact that it exists - but is not all of her.  You do that to me.  Yes, you are a beautiful poet (smiles).
