Winter’s Midnight Light
Silently, absorbed in the mirror of the snow
My breath curls reluctantly into the crisp night air
Such reverence bestowed upon a sleeping earth
Calm as no other, overturns the barter of a busy day
Quelling time’s thirsty speed, rocked gently to the songs of aurora

Wings folded, puffed upon hidden branches
Attuned to their wake up calls, I know these secret places
Strangely quieted, beneath the stroke of whispering stillness
Most times, I too would sleep through the hour
Summoned I suppose, for my own lullaby and good night

My mind makes journey, whispering percussion
Wishing you this peaceful place, by heart to heart discussion
Reflection of the passing on of ribbon colored sighs
Speaking into prayerful hush, my thoughts to His ear
Winter’s midnight light astounds me, every single tear

I am quite fond of lines and images such as:

“breath curl(ing) reluctantly into the crisp night air”;

“songs of aurora”;

“Calm…overturn(ing) the barter of a busy day”;

“wake up calls…(of) secret places”;

That  “stroke of whispering stillness” and “Winter’s midnight light”

Applause!!
