Sailing around the room alone
alone never had to be
if you'd have just reached a bit;
reached out to me...

the quiet
the sea there
sailing the flat earth
cold and bare

always someone there
at the stone of end
of life and death;
a friend

see me here, hear me
yes I'm still around
I'll always live here
in the lost and found

so call me soon
I'm sailing around the room alone
listening to songs that make tears
but know I hold my own.

Time alone is time for reflections...who are we, who do we want to be, what choices do we make, where will our choices take us...James

~ Gosh, I've been there, Darlin' Dixie! Not a good place to be. But, then another door opened and I found myself in a 'room' of sunshine and up-lifting music! ~ May such a door soon open up for you!

I got the inspiration for this from a book I saw this morning, a book by the same name by Billy Collins. A friend of mine is reading his poems for class.

I think I'll get a copy for myself. Good stuff.

Thanks for the comments here
and for the fact that I am  not alone.

Darlin',

This one just makes me tie a string on your ankle and pull you down for a hug. Beautiful and sad poem.
