in rampant rhythms
learned in autumn's turning wood
silent winter hush

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
yield of snowfall
might there still somewhere be breath
in morning glories
     As I walked to the gate for my daily drive to the mail box, I notice the adjacent sign my wife has nailed to a tree... It reads "Grand Children Welcome" the words of a forgotten melody echoed in mind... It doesn't matter... He may be gone, but his presence remains; at least in my heart and mind... The reminders will always surface but the songs they'll bring won't all exactly be a breath of fresh air...
     I never knew Rob to have any problems but I guess that was a long time ago... None of us thought anything like this... The last time I talked to him was just before mom's funeral in Jun of 97, he was really glad to hear my voice said he was feeling tired and wanted to get some rest before writing mom's eulogy...
     I spoke to him a few days later, we talked about getting together and about songs mom had sung over the years, making plans how we were all going to meet in the spring... You know, all the stuff we have done and say were going to do a million times over, there's so many things going through my head right now... and there are no words for them... I'd done so much with my brother and to think that I will never get to stand next him again much less, get a hug or talk to him...
     It's all so mind boggling and having a heartless family only brings out a disquieting spirit of animosity... I guess I'll be forever wondering why I wasn't told... However I do see now that it's a family pattern... thanks for listening...
Both are very beautiful, dear Dale! I love Winter scenes and hush and your surroundings inspire you no doubt deeply, also in the longing for Spring.
Was touched also by "Grand Children welcome!".
love
And, back to the top for these two also.
They remain beautiful, Dale.
I'm sorry, Dale...I missed this poem and your reply about your brother.  If there were morning glories, trust me...they will be back on some sunny day...
