.

I do not require unlimited cash
Or all that it can do
There is only one thing that I ask
To spend my life with you

When we are in the twilight of our years
And youth is but a distant memory
I’ll still be here, so have no fear
Because you mean the world to me

For I Love you even more today
Than I did at the start
And forevermore you shall stay
Enshrined within my Heart
.

If more men wrote poems of love like this for their wives, there would be one heckuvvalot less divorces in this world!

~ Sweet, sensitive, and sentimental.

Hugs to you, Dear John,

Zach

Glad you like it, Thanks 'Bro...

Linda

Writing it is the easy part,  carrying it out & meaning it is the bit that requires constant nurturing, as James Micheal consistently shows us....

Thanks for dropping by....

A joy to read, dear John! And yes to the continuous caring. But a man  able to express his feelings like this is almost a guarantee for a lasting bond I would say!

Wonderful.

Tom my friend, you are so right. This is what I was trying to write for V day but I was obviously trying too hard because nothing would shake free. So I ended up writing 1 I was less than happy with but it got more replies than some of what I consider my better “stuff” . This came into being last night when my wife was at a church meeting & Rhiannon was sat doing Her homework. I was going through my old Cd collection to put on E bay & I was listening to a track called ‘ All I want to do’ & this came together in 10 minutes flat, So lesson learned there then ! You have a good day also, & thanks for the response....

Ethel

Now you are making me blush!  Seriously, I am glad it had that effect on you, ‘tis what I was aiming for....
My wife has not as yet seen it & I plan on keeping it until Her birthday, judging by the comments so far, I may even get a little peck on the cheek...

Ta !

It is good to see this poem resurface. Perhaps it might encourage more men (even if they are not a poet like yourself) to express their love for their wives such as you have so beautifully done.

If I were to have received a gift such as this from my 'was'band when he was my husband, I would have cross-stitched it, framed it, and hung it up on the wall! lol

Love and smiles to you, Dear John!

ILoveTheRain, and I love your name! I am pleased that you enjoy my offerings but in common with most ‘poets’ I guess, I do not consider my stuff to be that good. So when I get a comment like yours it makes it all the more special, I am sure you will come into your own one day, you just need to keep beavering away, thanks again…

Bobby, Thanks my friend, I do appreciate your taking the time to read & reply

Hope, Thank you for that lovely reply, much appreciated

James, I am honored to have such an accolade from he whom I consider to be the Hawaiin God of Love, seriously! Thanks

AW, Good morning to you, Glad you liked it, I never included chocolate as being one of my needs but that goe’s without saying, right? Thanks for the eyes….

Linda, You are too sweet….that good eh? Thank you, really I mean that…I cannot believe that excuse for a husband never did anything to make your heart do back flips…don’t know about cross stitches, I advocate nailing him to the wall……..

Well, you have to believe that you are good to know that you are. I come on this site looking forward to reading your poetry, along with other's. I'm at a young age, so soon maybe, I will be 10 times better! I want writing to be one of my side works. I love it so much.
