          Love’s Abandon

On this lonely Winter afternoon,
a cold and somber whisper-wind
winnows scraps of weathered
  leaves
along these ancient wooded paths,
traced by the shadow of a passing
  cloud,
that tempts a lonely memory
of her slipping forever
beyond Time’s last horizon,
into that mystic netherworld…
of immortal forfeit dreams,
and eternal, uncherished love.

Secondhanddreampoet,

This is a sadly beautiful poem.  It's also very good writing.

I agree with Bobby, and also note that it seems to have a walking cadence to it. Very fine work.

This is very sad.
Oh, uncherished love
Were we blessed by it?

Bruce, I would like to give you the highest applause rating that you give to poems that you consider outstanding!

Might I also add, that my daughter pops into pip sometimes to read YOUR poetry! lol

Pat yourself on the back, for me!

Kudos from Linda

Sometimes the most beautiful poems come from
the saddest experiences...like this one.
