Blessings of Rejection

Now you truly know
that you must let go.
Knowing for sure
past all doubt,
all of those things
thought to be possible
have lost all hope
of working out.
It can be a traumatic
experience this thing
called rejection,
or it can be as simple
as one door closing
and another opening.

Oh, yes! I have found this to be true, as well! Ofttimes, those new doors open to far greener pastures!

Thank you Earth Angel, Artic Wind and simon for the nice responses...like anything it pays to look at the positives when faced with a negative...some wise words from some books in my library have this to say..."Wholeness makes no demands.  No one can reject us when there is nothing that we need.  In moving forward, fully giving, and asking nothing, we cannot be pushed away, because we are irresistible.  It does not matter what the other person's behavior is because we are not trying to have them do it our way to meet our needs.  Even if they pushed us away, we would only feel ourselves loving them, because we are not trying to get something from them...from "If It Hurts, It Isn't Love."by Chuck Spezzana, Ph.D...p.11.   Also, "You are not a simple product of your experience, you are a product of what you make of and do with those experiences."  from "Bad Childhood Good Life" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger...page 46.  James

Rejection....the worst pain you can experience that leaves no physical mark...

Very deep James.

Thank you This Diamond, Serenity blaze and effjayel for the wonderful responses...
Effjayel I think that rejection is overrated...we tend to dwell on the negative too much, so I am trying to develop some positive responses...for example, we can feel sorry for ourselves and wallow in the rejection, considering ourselves a victim, or we can accept the rejection with a positive attitude, such as why do we want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with us...personally, would you want to be with someone that you don't like, for whatever reason?  I wouldn't, so why require it of another...its about being a whole person, satisfied with ourselves...in other words accepting ourselves...James

James,

You surely do have a way with words.

This is so well written, and it carries deep meaning and truth.

Yes James, when one door closes another one does open, some times it takes a while to

find it but don't lose faith, always remember, good things come to those who wait,

Good luck my friend

Thank you Secondhanddreampoet, Robert Jordon and Lindsay for the wonderful responses...
Actually Lindsay this is mostly about my most recent thoughts on rejection...it is not about me being rejected by anyone recently...no one appreciates rejection when it is a loss of hopes and dreams...but having experienced rejection by someone I cared for very much, many years ago, I had to work my way through it...and I now look upon rejection differently...more like, its not what happens to you, its how you respond to the situation, you can wallow in self pity or you can accept it as an opportunity...also what are you accomplishing by wanting to be with someone that doesn't want to be with you...so in rejection you must close one door, but you are set free to open another...and think of the possibilities...James
