We're always under some 'severe weather alert'.
Good grief. Give it a rest.
Tornado watch. Fog. Simple rain.
The weather here is beautiful, I contest.

Just let me know when a hurricane is coming.
This is Florida for cryin' out loud!
I don't care about the little storms,
good for beers and a small crowd.

Just give me the beach
the sky, whatever color it will be
severe weather alerts
are just so silly to me.

We don't have blizzards
or ice storms or levees to break,
the weathermen make me crazy
a frenzy too much to take.

People are selling houses here
I say go ahead and run
true Florida people are here to stay
and are always ready for the fun.

Passing shadows,

Florida huh--geez, how can you stand it down there.  All that sun, ocean breezes, and other stuff.

You’re brave.

interesting 'weather report!'

I really love the line:

"weathermen make me crazy(!)"

[most 'talking T.V. heads' make me crazy!]

applause for this 'write!'

Now DixieDoodle girl
on this point we have to disagree
I want to know just what Mother Nature
is thinking of throwing at me~

When I think of the Severe Weather Alerts
that have saved so many lives right here
I say, "Bring 'em on!"
And give the weather station a great big cheer !

The Tornado Warnings on Christmas day
just two short years ago
helped to save my brothers life
this much I know~

As the wind began to whirl
he heard the warning on the TV
Take cover ... Tornado coming
and then .... it struck his home~

He heard the words just in time
to throw hiself into the couch,
hanging on for dear life
while he didn't suffer and ouch
his home was totally destroyed
but his life was saved that day
by the Severe Weather ALERT
that happened to come his way~

Okay ... so ya' got my fingers going~
While it does seem like there are so many ALERTS out there ... I always take heed~
I think I am very grateful for them~

thanks everyone for the comments

apparently there were tornados in Molino and damage was reported, power was out to about 3000 homes...but here it was just fine...a little rain and wind

I was out driving in it and thought nothing of it...I guess I'm just immune now

really it's annoying that they put out so many alerts...every time I check the weather there is one out

today there was one for low humidity and fire watches

really as much as it rained yesterday I don't think anything would catch on fire

it's getting to where I just don't take them seriously anymore unless it's a hurricane

thanks for the links Marge

I had heard about that on CNN while I was in Georgia at that time.

I guess many were lucky indeed.
