I'm at the point in my life now
where I don't really care-
I can be daring, different, my own,
and laugh at those who stare.

I can color my hair
a funky orangey sunset tone.
I can jump a moving train,
leaving you very much alone.

I can be accident prone,
and kiss a stranger on the street,
man or woman, and passionately so,
and knock them off their feet.

I can be drunk and disorderly,
another night in the clink
is nothing to me now
and I don't care what you think.

I'm tired of being settled and predictable.
I want to bust out and be the shock
that you talk about over dinner
over the routine tick tock of the clock.

Life's too short and people distort,
no time's too soon to plow another path,
to make your mark and leave people yearning
for more of you in the aftermath.

Rah, rah, rah! Siss boom bah! Gosh, there's some of that in me as well! ~ But, I'm a teensy bit more restrained ~ but that is not necessarily a good thing! lol

Be free to be who you are! Be true to yourself!

Love the spirit of this write, Darlin' Dixie!

P.S. The shock factor can be a hoot, can't it?!? lol

Yo Passing shadows,

That's a good, and healthy attitude.  Don't let anyone tell you different.

Yanno? I've been fighting the urge to go get piercings lately...

y'think we can blame it on the moon?

(In my case it's textbook midlife crisis, lovie.)

The urge passes.

Maybe.

Enjoyed.

K, go ahead and get the piercings

it's nothing  you can't change later if you want, holes grow back in

maybe that's what it is with me too...a midlife thing. I hate to admit that so we'll blame it on the moon

You know, Dixie, it all sounds like a lot of fun. I love your poetry and listening in as you grow.

This one has such a great rhythm, Dixie. Very funny mood. I am rather crazy too, so I understand (except getting drunk, which won't happen to me, as I simply don't like
that stuff).

love and hugs, Poetess!

I love the way you end this one.  And I agree all the way through, though of course I will never do that. But I admire it in others.
