Chilly invigorating, the day
alive with new hope.
Facing the future with
sunlight on my face,
the winsomeness of this
sundrenched day melts away
hurt and my body
can carry me again.
Love i held dear,
now i go onward
with slow steady steps.
My heart will cease
to lurch with thoughts,
as i find sweet
beauty and delight again.
Without love and care
surely i am nothing?
While i have a
heart that overflows with
shining devotion, i shall
not fail to be
my kindest, my giving,
my understanding glowing best.

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky, ring out the old, ring in the new, ring out the false, ring in the true..A Lord Tennyson

There is obviously important wisdom born of
hard experience in this fine 'write' for all of us!

I am especially fond of:

"the winsomeness of this
sundrenched day melts away
hurt..."

"...go onward with slow steady steps"

"...find sweet
beauty and delight again"

AND, the ending!:

"Without love and care
surely i am nothing?
While i have a
heart that overflows with
shining devotion, i shall
not fail to be
my kindest, my giving,
my understanding glowing best"

v. serious and long-sustained
applause for this 'penning!'

I am thinking of that grand German painting
("The Krahe") which features a v. weather-worn
crow (wearing boots) steadfastly trudging across
seemingly endless cornfields; and, Winston Churchill's
frequent use of the expression "keep buggering on!"
