Sight

A single blue star
in the spilled ink sky
uncovering clues of who we are
and maybe just why

Sarah darling,
queen firefly of this town
you bring up the moon
just to pull the shade down
and let me sleep

Damn, I love you
you get it right
only you are true
the only thing in sight

Taste the night air
all the evidence of autumn
is breezing through her hair
as I hear the green fields hum

I watch her jump from cloud to cloud
screaming our love into the dawn
and my heart beat so proud
in the grooves of her song
