Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-02-16 12:52 PM

Evening sun shines pale yellow, milky
Slips behind clouds, silver silky
Mountains remain hidden, day is done
Stillness reigns with the setting sun.

Trees now stark silhouettes of black
Snow blankets rivers, ice intact
Winter cold nearing a bitter end
With light of spring, new life to lend

Deciduous trees, costumes of green
Sturdy conifers nestled in between
Fireweeds, roses and bluebells, blue
Arctic painting in vibrant, colored hues

Winter, summer, autumn and spring
Wonders of life each day brings
Presents from the Creator’s hands
Miracles of life dot a miraculous land.

Evening sun shines pale yellow, milky
Slips behind clouds, silver silky
Moon hangs low over darkness deep
Silence sings in a land that sleeps.

...

Alison

Alison,

This is good work.

The poem is well organized, and good use is made of end rhymes.  It's also not forced.

I like it loads.

This is a very lovely painting, Alison.
In this gray day, you brought me the colors
of life. Thank you!

"Miracles of life dot a miraculous land.

How true, Alison, but some people just cannot see because they perhaps are "sleeping".

Always enjoy your words - thank you.

Dear Ali.
... and did you know that, through your knowing and enchanted eyes, the x-ray vision that allows you to perceive that, under the ice, an explosion of riotous life will soon awaken, beneath the ice, where others might see nothing but a frozen, desolate waistband ... do you know you bring vistas and landscapes I will never know in person?
... and do you know that, by the means of magical transport, you take me not just into your world, but into the chambers of your inner life (on Pip)?
I wish I could reveal like that ...
that I could pleaded:
Please, PLEASE touch me ...
Please, dance with me ...
The way you do ...
And knowing it's okay to say that ...
and not get rejected or misunderstood!
Love
Jaime

Michyla

Thank you, sweetie.  You know, you are findig your style - and coming along quite well, I think.  I bet we all look to someone here and wish we could be as good as they are.  I know that I do.  We just keep working on becoming better -- and sate the desire within us to write.
