.

I consider myself to be rich
Although I've not much in the bank
There are other reasons for which
I have much to thank

I'm not materialistic
Asset collectings for fools
My needs are simplistic
I have my family jewels

Many more people oughta
Have the things I've got in my life
My beautiful daughter
And wonderful wife

Now, it is plain to see
I am not a millionaire
But that matters not to me
I'm more than happy with my share

For what makes me really glad
And the happiest man in the world
Is that I get to be the dad
Of the prettiest little girl....

Passing Shadows, Thanks for the praise & you are so right, people are sometimes so caught up in having the symbols of richness they are blind to the fact that they have the things money cannot buy staring them in the face......

Robert

You are most welcome & thank you. I am glad your daughter continues to bring you joy...

It is obvious from replies I have had to other stuff I have written of which Rhiannon has been the focus, that other guys confirm the intensity of the love we Fathers have for or daughters is nothing short of amazing,

Cheers

John

John-
Nothing means more than being 'daddy's little girl' for it's the love learned there that allows a daughter to understand who she is and love freely and without reserve when she grows up.

John, this "jewel" just touched MY "heart".

Yes, indeed, you are a rich man! ~ and a handsome one, at that! What an unexpected treat to see your smiling face and that of  your lovely daughter! My goodness, the resemblance between you two, is uncanny!

You are a kind and gracious man who lives his life with gratitude and thankfulness. May the blessings continue to pour into your life!

Love to you and your family!

John what a wonderful outlook you have on life. With that attitude you are certainly

rich in the way that it really counts and I know how you feel about your lovely little

girl. Great poem, well written.

Linda

Now you have me blushing ! Thank you so much for the kind words... I have to admit to being an admirer of your work & to receive these compliments from you is very special to me.

I am thankful for the riches which have been bestowed on me & the joy that I get from Rhiannon on  a daily basis, added to the comments I regularly get on this wonderful site make me happier than any amount of money ever could. My very best to you & your family also...

Margherita

I am as happy as I ever can be, certainly with my “lot” How I wish I had the wherewithal to make others far less fortunate than I even a little happier than they are....

Lindsay

Thank you my friend, your kindness swells my heart !

Thank you all so much......
