Foraging

How far the reach of winter truly is
Bejeweled in moonlight, ashine in sunlight
Still, I hear the footsteps of March
Just there, beneath the snow
And I too want to go
Landscapes drift and cake
Icicle shimmer dins opaque
To my ear, all I hear is footsteps
Looking in and under cover
Seeds repeal from time another
Left – right, Left-right
Hidden in this mystery contrarily
Just there, beneath the snow
And I too want to go
To find that spring is waiting
Every nerve anticipating…bloom
Again, the wind its hollow loom
A shiver, while I forage for my own sake
