Felix is awakened at four.

The farmer doesn’t wait for anything,
just kicks Felix down the green stairs.

Felix is hustled out to the barn
to clean the manure out of the trough.

The farmer takes him back
to the house for breakfast.

The farmer’s wife
feeds him bacon and eggs.

She tells him how grateful he should be,
to be taken in by a good farm family.

Bobby

Secondhanddreampoet,

Thanks, I’m glad it caught your interest.

TomMark,

Isn’t it human though?  It’s one of the less appealing aspects of human nature.

you know what Bobby? sometimes I feel sorry for Felix, sometimes I feel happy for him and sometimes I think people are just plain cruel and nasty to him... he is in my books a very resilient and resourceful young man though.. and I like him to bits!!   love RDB

RDB,

Thanks for the kind words.  Felix is glad you like him.  He likes you to bits and pieces too.

Those were unhappy times for Felix.  It's why he likes the city, and tries to never go to the country.

I don't blame Felix. I wouldn't like the country much either. Felix is cool, He knows where he belongs.

Ida,

If I can help it, I seldom go to the country.  I have relatives there, I wish they'd move to town.

Talyn,

Yes, it's your buddy Felix; pulling state sponsored slave labor on the farm.
