she was a forest fire of a woman
kindling, crackling
devouring
twigs of broken promises
and leafy skeletons of autumns past

she was a forest fire of a woman
raging, swirling
engulfing
trunks of charred intentions
and long-fingered branches of desire

she was a forest fire of a woman
panting, pressing
smoldering
waiting for the smoke to clear
so from the ashes, she could be reborn.

DS - Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Mmm, yes.
A cauldron of steamy goodness.

Nakedthoughts - Thanks for the welcome back and enjoying the read!

Shadows - I appreciate your kind words.

Robert - Where there's smoke, there's fire. Glad the words singed just a bit.
