Dessert

The festive ruffle of a maid’s apron
Scant, the flour sifted
Worked in an artisans touch
Sensibilities aroused as midnight lifted
Turned softly to scallop, and filled
Sweetness, an adjective in many flavors
Pure thoughts, provoked to be hot
Free lance, the drizzle of desire
Layers melt away, this taste at Eden’s fire
My serve, tempting just the concave nook
Each bud, whispers back the sampling it took
A rose, hand dipped until the blossom glistens pink
Set out in moonlight, at the fire’s brink
The last drop, remaining lower lipped
A taste, oh just a taste was sipped
Before the powdered sugar showered
As this is just dessert!
