A lean of the bench
The way its steel rails
Pulled leaves from the
Pulse of each tree
Hanging from the balance.

The careful shadows,
That tied their eyes
From the faded grass,
And the nicest corner
From his body sung,
As she nipped her head
On top of his slung shoulders
Young yawn.

Her crimson flushed dress,
Inline with the drapes
Of her velvet scathed legs,
Her tied strap from the back
Carried its strings
From the north of her back
To the shrills of his hair
Surrounding his easy, red mouth.

Unlike a dancers feet,
They sat with their legs
Around the clocks frozen dimes,
As the shepherds came at dawns wake,
They found her head on his,
A smile uncorked,
A bench’s new cut.
