Weekend Warrior

I'm a weekend warrior
I have plenty to lose
I got nothing to fight for
And still fighting I choose

A part time rebel
That's what I am
I'm an army of one
That'll fight to the last man

I'll be at
My backyard barricade
Turning the men in suits
With their oil cannons away

They can dance in the forest
With the trees on fire
I'd rather be burned
Outside on the pyre.

Go ahead
And hide behind
Your camouflage
Of Abercrombie
You stay safe
But lose your soul
A mindless slave
A brand name zombie

The wars may have moved
From the playground to the desert
The rules are new, the weapons improved
But the reasons haven't changed

I ain't gonna fight
A man who's done me no wrong
But a man who kills with his lies
I'll fight hard, I'll fight strong

I'll be at my backyard barricade
Driving the men in suits away
The popular reinforcements arrive
I gotta close my eyes to survive

I'm a weekend warrior
Don't you know that's me
No you just know the reality
That you get on your t.v.

You can always send for reinforcements, I may not be the archetypal 7th Cavalry, but send up the flare & I'll come a runnin'

Much enjoyed,

Cheers
